Acts 4:11, 12 GNB

“Jesus is the one of whom the scripture says: ‘The stone that you the builders despised turned out to be the most important of all.’ Salvation is to be found through him alone; in all the world there is no one else whom God has given who can save us.””

Today I once again experienced the true power of God; how He provides for those jn need.

One of my orphanages called to tell me there will be 4 extra children needing Santa Shoeboxes. As pledging and drop-off have closed for the year and we have packed and stored all extra stuff…I told the housemom that I do still have some extra toys, but cannot pack entire boxes anymore. Well, today at celebration of another facility, they happened to have extra boxes…for 3 girls and 1 boy; exactly what I need for the orphanage.

This is God at work, I’m sure….through Him we will not only find salvation, but He will also bless our lives and work if we do it in His name.

Today I realised that He still answers prayers and He will never ignore us, something I desperately wanted reassurance of.

He answered this prayer for those kids; I know He will answer my prayers for my son’s exam results too.

Yes, God IS good!!!

Party preparations in full swing! – The Ilze Halliday Foundation.

This week saw me rushing around between office and store to purchase goodies for my 8 facilities’ celebration days.

The first one is tomorrow at Forever Angels Place of Safety. I’m taking along some extra gifts and cupcakes, lovingly prepared by Charmaine Visser of Cupcake Annie and some sweet puffs. Santa Clause will be played by Marius van den Berg, the husband of Ursula, the housemommy.

In addition to sorting out all the celebration stuff, I finally got around to clearing out some donations I’ve received a while back from Ronel Dixon and Irma Roodt. Clothing, carpets (received from Annette Jacobs at the Reserve Bank) and toys will be distributed among the facilities during celebration time.

Well, I have to prepare for my celebration program tomorrow. I’ll keep you posted!!!!

Psalms 100:4, 5 GNB

“Enter the temple gates with thanksgiving, go into its courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise him. The Lord is good; his love is eternal and his faithfulness lasts for ever.”

I know that, now on the eve of my son’s first exam in this, his final days at primary school, I need to praise the Lord for giving me the courage and strength to have survived the long years of struggle. Now, I lay my son and his academic achievement at the feet of our Lord. I know he will do well, because God will be with him every second. God will give him insight and knowledge, the ability to understand and answer each question correctly….finally, at last he will reap the fruit of his labour…he will succeed. For this I trust in the Lord and I hold Him to His promise in Mark 11:24….everything we ask of Him, will be given unto us if we believe. I asked and I trust and believe, the rest is up to Him. Praise and glory to the Lord forever.

John 15:5

John 15:5 GNB

““I am the vine, and you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will bear much fruit; for you can do nothing without me.”

This month my main concern is my children. The boys are both writing exams and, as usual, I pray to God that all will be well. I’ve worried about them their entire lives; screamed and shouted at God when things went wrong. Now I realize that its actually so easy, I just have to trust in Him. I have to give it all over in His Hands. I have no power, despite my energetic efforts to make everything better, to ‘fix’ it all. God is the only power and He is all I need. But still, I have to beg of Him to help the kids….give them success in their studies. Please God…I put their future in Your powerful Hands. Without You, I am nothing, they are nothing….so let my prayer be this; that they will understand their academic progress is the work of God…let them know that without Him, they are just empty shells. Let them lean on You, my Lord, like I do now, asking you this one thing. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Saviour…Amen
