Been watching my DVD set of Wire in the blood. I just love ol’ Tony. Man, he’s sharp as a tack. In some ways I do think this type of crime series is, in fact, the ‘thinking’ person’s CSI. Its just so much more clever than CSI, more intense. The British does know their business. Their American counterparts may live exponentially more glamorous lives and enjoy more fame and media attention, but the Brit’s do act better and their stories seem more real to me. They are not so full of themselves either, despite their obvious wealth….very low-key, which makes them seem more accessable to the general public. I sometimes reckon its the Shakespeare in their blood. In my opinion you can only be a true ACTOR once you’ve done Shakespeare…perhaps it is because I’ve always considered his tales as being the ultimate prose. The stories against which all others should be measured. On the other hand, maybe I side with British actors because the island is where my roots are…and my love for the country runs deeper than even I can understand or explain. Whatever the case….I was talking about Tony Hill (and got side-tracked again). Yeah, I adore the character….well done mr Green! I do hope there will eventually be more episodes of Wire……its honestly one of the best investigative series I’ve ever seen (the other one is Midsomer Murders).
